Triple Berry Smoothie

· Blue Meal Recipe

Ingredients

  • Berries (blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries) - however, you can choose whatever berries you'd like to use
  • Banana
  • Milk (you can also use almond milk or coconut milk as a substitute)
  • Yogurt
  • Additional : A handful of spinach or tablespoon of chia seeds also add extra healthy nutrients to it

Direction

  1. Using a high powered blender, add all of the ingredients. Make sure to add the wet ingredients (juice or milk) first and the frozen items last
  2. Blend for around 1 minute or until smooth. Add more liquid if you notice that the blender is struggling to puree the fruit.
  3. Transfer to a tall glass with a straw and enjoy!

Are fresh or frozen berries best for smoothies?

  • You may use fresh or frozen fruits, bit if you do choose frozen fruit, using a high powered blender is suggested so that everything is well-blended to the texture we all know and love.

How to sweeten a smoothie:

  • If your smoothy is not as sweet as you like, add honey, agave, or sugar (0 calorie sugar if you have it and pulse a few more seconds
